Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) has become one of the most widespread occupational health problems we face today. It affects millions of people a year, and with our growing reliance on computers there seems to be no end in sight. The syndrome is caused by pressure on or entrapment of the median nerve just above the wrist. Pressure or nerve entrapment can be caused by an injury or sustained use from common activities like typing, chopping, hammering, or pushing. Symptoms of CTS range from wrist pain, numbness, tingling, burning, weakness or loss of grip strength, and loss of sleep due to discomfort.

If you truly want to resolve your CTS, it is very important to first locate all the sites of nerve entrapment.

How can we help?

Active Release Technique (ART) can be a very successful technique for treating CTS.  We use ART to find the specific tissues that are restricted, and then physically work them back to their normal texture and tension. ART is used to release the median nerve from its abnormal attachments to the muscles, tendons, ligaments, or connective structures that are causing the nerve compression syndrome.
