Your First Visit

You will receive a full body assessment on your first visit. This is how we identify whether your neck is contributing to your shoulder pain, your ankle is contributing to your hip pain, or your shoulder limitation is negatively impacting your sport. These are just examples to illustrate that we seek to identify the route cause of your pain rather than just putting a band aid on it.

Next we will address the point of pain with:

  1. soft tissue stretches
  2. corrective exercises
  3. chiropractic adjustment
  4. movement pattern modifications
  5. core strengthening/engagement
  6. inner core balance/alignment (alligator breathing)

The chiropractic adjustment is one of the later resources we use, unlike the traditional chiropractor.  Why?  The adjustment is incredibly powerful, and it can make immediate changes in the body: afferent stimulation, eliminating pain, increasing range of motion, restoring function, and a plethora of other health benefits, BUT not everyone likes the "popping" sound or feel of the adjustment.  We respect this.  We know we can make equally powerful changes in the body through soft tissue and exercise.

One of the most common things we hear is that when you go to the doctor, say for elbow pain, the doctor never even looks at our touches your elbow!  How can they get to the route of the problem without even assessing the point of pain?  We don't know either.  But if your elbow hurts, we are going to assess it and treat it specifically, as well as the other related and contributory factors that may have led to the problem in the first place..

Wellness Program

Prior to leaving, the doctor will suggest a wellness program to incorporate outside of treatment. If you are in pain when you first come into our office this may include: ice or heat application instructions, certain activities or positions to avoid, and at home exercises and/or stretches. If you desire, our wellness team will work with you also to create healthy habits and routines for your lifestyle. Every person is unique, therefore everyone requires a customized wellness plan. The purpose of our wellness program is for you to achieve good spinal alignment, have a healthy diet, exercise, and maintain a positive mental state.
